Six Jump Races at Radnor Hunt

Malvern, PA, 3rd Saturday in May

Jump racing – also called steeplechasing—is horse racing over hurdles and fences in the open country side.  This year you can watch the racing excitement at Radnor Hunt in Malvern as the 87th Radnor Hunt Races are held on Saturday, May 20.

Picture yourself standing in the middle of the beautiful Radnor Hunt countryside and having a party with friends and family watching horse racing so close to them that you can feel the ground shake as they go by.  Many families have multiple generations enjoying what has become a springtime tradition in southeastern Pennsylvania.

The racing is sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association (NSA) and is a part of the racing circuit that ranges from Florida to Saratoga, New York starting in the early spring and ending in the fall.  The Radnor Hunt Races is among the top rated race meets and draws the best horses, riders and trainers in the country.  The horses in these races are at the top of their game.

There are six races starting at about 1:30 PM with about a half an hour between races.  The racecourse is about a mile around and the horses run clock-wise around the circuit 2 or 3 laps depending on the race. Join the 20,000 fans who return every year for a day at the races.
